The buzz this week is the official local premier of I AM NOT A HIPSTER screening this Friday at MOPA in partnership with our friends at San Diego Film Festival and Sezio.

I AM NOT A HIPSTER was shot in San Diego by SDSU grads and is rooted within the San Diego indie music scene. It was an official selection in the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. No stranger to Sundance, Writer/Director Dustin Destin Cretton's short film Short Term 12 won the Jury Prize at Sundance in 2009.

We've got two screenings to choose from at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Joel P. West, of The Tree Ring, created the band Canines for the film and wrote the songs performed in the movie. Canines will be making a rare live performance between the two screenings. And our friends at El Dorado will be running the bar for the evening.

Come down Friday to support the local creative community. Proceeds from the event will help send I AM NOT A HIPSTER on to more cities and distribution channels. Also, Producer Ron Najor has just launched a Kickstarter online fundraiser for the film. Get your tickets here.
