Strange Cinema Film Series "Playtime" 11.29.2012 7:00 pm Playtime (Jacques Tati, 1967, 155min.) In Playtime, Tati's character, Monsieur Hulot, and a group of American tourists attempt to navigate a futuristic Paris. Shot in 70 mm, Playtime is notable for its massive intricate set and Tati's trademark use of subtle, yet complex visual comedy and imaginative sound effects. In support of the Museum exhibition, Ruud van Empel: Strange Beauty, this three-part film series delves into the creative process and cinematic influences of artist Ruud van Empel.
