My City, Your City Opens

10.19.2013 12:00 am

What does it mean to call a place home?

What story would you tell about your community?

Where do you come from and what do you call home?

This is MOPA's 8th Annual Youth Exhibition featuring work by students, grades K - 12. Kids were encouraged to use the power of photography, both still photography and video, to explore this year's theme, My City, Your City. The winners were chosen on the basis of originality, quality and the artist's statement within the theme. Learn more at mopa.org/yx13.

Kevin Cooley: Elements Opens

10.19.2013 12:00 am

A Los Angeles-based photographer and video artist, Kevin Cooley thoughtfully investigates the ever-changing intersection between man and nature. Elements, the first solo museum exhibition of the artist’s work, presents two videos, Skyward and Tow. These works invite you to explore the California sky and Arctic waters from a first person point-of-view, coaxing you to look at these elements in a new and different way. Learn more at mopa.org/kevin-cooley-elements.
