Connecting with the Curator

11.22.2014 10:00 am

Come to MOPA and join Assistant Curator Chantel Paul for a gallery tour of Collective Restraint: Four Decades of Czech Photography.

Collective Restraint looks at how the political and social landscape of Czechoslovakia during the 1930s through 1960s informed the artistic approach and output of photographers. Chantel Paul will share details about curating this exhibition from the private collection of Jerry D. and Mary K. Gardner. Their collection is largely comprised of photographs by artists from the Czech Republic and former USSR. She will be joined by Jerry D. Gardner, who will speak directly about his passion for photography. The exhibition includes the work of 43 photographers whose images represent the use of abstraction and experimentation of the time period.
