In his series When Morning Comes, Brandon Thibodeaux uses the camera to explore ideas of community, faith, and tradition. What began in 2009 as a personal pilgrimage to the Mississippi Delta resulted in an ongoing project that has penetrated the facade of five villages resting on the northern edge of the Delta. With names like Alligator, Bo Bo, and Mound Bayou (the country’s oldest African American city), Thibodeaux’s images encourage us to connect with the people and places of these remote, yet tight knit communities.
