Jerry Gardner

Jerry has shown his dedication to MOPA through more than 15 years of membership and 10 years of volunteer service. This year, he spent hundreds of hours digitizing MOPA’s permanent collection, meticulously photographing and digitally cataloging each object. Through his efforts, MOPA will be able to increase access to the collection and share these artistic treasures in new and exciting ways. Make a donation.

Digitizing the Permanent Collection

When MOPA first opened its doors on May 1, 1983, there were no objects in the permanent collection. Thanks to generous visionaries, artists and donors, the collection currently numbers almost 7,000 pieces of photographic history. Over 6,000 pieces from the collection have now been digitally archived through the help of volunteers like Jerry and the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, and will soon be available to a global audience.
