12.06.2012 7:00 pm Blue Velvet (David Lynch, 1986, 120min.) Widely regarded as one of David Lynch’s finest works, Blue Velvet is a modern-day film noir injected with surrealism. The film centers on eccentric college student who, returning from visiting his ill father in the hospital, comes across a human ear in a field in his hometown of Lumberton. In support of the Museum exhibition, Ruud van Empel: Strange Beauty, this three-part film series delves into the creative process and cinematic influences of artist Ruud van Empel.
