Summer Camps

This year MOPA has teamed up with the New Children's Museum and Animate A Way to offer special camps for youth.


The New Children's Museum

July 6-10
Oh, Shoot! Creative Projects in Photography
(Art Invasion - Grades 4-6)

Camp is located at The Museum of Photographic Arts, Balboa Park
Artists: Charles Thunyakij and Jessie McIntyre

The New Children’s Museum has partnered with The Museum of Photographic Arts to offer an innovative photography-based art camp. Using Balboa Park as a back drop, campers will use their creativity in daily photo shoots focused on photography techniques such as composition, point of view and lighting.  The camp will culminate in a final personal project and a camper-designed exhibition.

Animate A Way

July 13-17
Animation Summer Camp
Ages 7-14
Camp is located at the Museum of Photographic Arts, Balboa Park

Learn how to animate and make a film, create your own stop-motion animated film and learn how to use professional equipment to take awesome photographs!
