The Mexican / American Tapes - What happens when the "illegal" Mexicans, pursued by U.S. immigration authorities and vilified in the media, potentially become citizens of the United States? The answer lies in the lives of former neighbors of the director, Louis Hock. This version, which the filmmaker created specifically for Ambulate, mixes two documentaries (The Mexican Tapes and The American Tapes) and shows four undocumented Mexican families in two periods: when they came to California in 1970 and the life they now lead in both the United States and Mexico.
