SHUTTERBUGS:
GIRL SCOUT PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM
Earn
a Camera Shots, Photography, or Museum Discovery Badge! In these
2-hour programs, Scouts learn how cameras use light to create
pictures and basic composition skills that they can apply to making
their own photographs.
Cost:
$120
for 10 girls or less, $12 each additional girl up to 30
All materials are provided, except badges, which are the responsibility
of the troop leader.

Juniors)
Trace the evolution of photography and film and learn about different
cameras, lenses, and their uses. Scouts will take portraits of
each other and create a frame for their favorite work!
What
a Great Eye!
(for
Cadettes and Seniors)
Scouts explore the basics of composition and design through an
interactive photo-composing activity. They also learn about digital
photography and apply their learned skills to making digital pictures
while using beautiful Balboa Park as their background. Scouts
go home with their very own digital photograph at the end of the
session!
How
to Run Your Own Museum! (for
Cadettes and Seniors)
This is fun! Normally reserved for patrons and special donors,
Scouts go behind-the-scenes on tour of the backstage of a museum.
Visit the Print Viewing Room, Registrar, and Preparator workspace,
and the Museum’s Vault. Scouts also participate in a guided
tour of the current exhibit and a museum activity!
Badge
Requirements:
Juniors - there are 6 requirements necessary for completion of
the Camera Shots Badge for Juniors. Juniors can complete their
badge with the Click! program.
Cadettes
and Seniors
- there are 7 specific activities for Cadettes and Seniors to
earn their Photography Badge. What a Great Eye! combined with
on-your-own assignments will fulfill the badge requirements. How
to Run Your Own Museum! fulfills the Museum Discovery Badge with
one on-your-own assignment! This is a great opportunity for Seniors
to get real world experience with museums.

• How to Run Your Own Museum! is available by appointment
only.
RESERVATIONS
AND
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made at least one week in advance and are
subject to a $50 processing fee. Confirmation of cancellations
will be sent by mail or fax. If cancellations are not made one
week in advance, 100% of the program fee will be charged.
