Release Date:
March 20, 2012

(San Diego, CA) Mar. 20, 2012 – Celebrate summer in Balboa Park with MOPA’s annual summer photography camps, designed for young photographers from grades K-12. Explore the endless possibilities of photography with hands-on activities where kids can learn to produce their own music video, become a photojournalist or create a cyanotype.

Summer camps take place from Monday, June 18 through Friday, August 10 at MOPA. Parents have the opportunity to select from one week or two-week half-day camps. Each camp features a different photographic theme and includes indoor and outdoor adventures with digital cameras, alternative photographic processes and filmmaking projects. MOPA is a proud participant in the Balboa Park Collaboration, which allows parents to combine a half-day camp with another museum for a full day adventure.

One-week camps are $150 for MOPA Members, $200 for the general public; two-week camps are $300 for MOPA Members, $350 for the general public. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. View the full list of camps and register online at mopa.org/summercamp.
